Fresh Legal is now Fresh Legal LLP

Same team, same care, same fresh start, with a new name that reflects how much we’ve grown.

Effective September 1, 2026, Fresh Legal has become a limited liability partnership (LLP), as permitted by Ontario’s Partnerships Act and Law Society Act. The firm is now known as Fresh Legal LLP.

Here’s what’s new, what it means for you, and a little about the four partners behind it.

So, what exactly is an LLP?

A limited liability partnership adjusts how responsibility is shared among partners. In plain language:

Personal responsibility stays personal

The lawyer on your matter remains personally liable for her own actions, and for the actions of those she directly supervises and controls.

Partners aren’t liable for each other's actions

Partners are not personally liable for the negligent acts of another partner, or of employees supervised by another partner.

The firm stands behind its work

The LLP itself continues to be liable for the negligence of its partners, associates, and employees

Insured, as always

Every lawyer at Fresh Legal LLP continues to carry the liability insurance required by the Law Society of Ontario.
